I tried to install in a freshly created Windows Server 2025 VM (with latest Nov patch) and encountered following error:

    This error will occur if you’re not using Windows Server 2025 Standard or Datacenter. It can’t be the evaluation version. This will be addressed in a future public preview. Windows Admin Center Virtualization Mode will support the evaluation versions of Windows Server.

    Same here, on Windows Server 2022 with October 2025 CU 😅

      OK, well, I've figured it out for myself: installation is limited to SKU ServerStandard (7) and ServerDatacenter (8), which excludes evaluation versions (e.g., EvalDatacenter SKU = 80). It's a little strange not to be able to test on an evaluation version, but hey, why not...

        The preview build has been updated with support for Evaluation Editions of Windows Server as of Monday, December 8th. Please give it another try!
