It is nice to get another release, however, I cannot avoid to notice they are now coming slower and slower, and most features seem to focus only on clustering and Azure Stack HCI (which is welcome, as WAC was years behind decade-old MMC on those topics).
We could use some love on core WAC features and QoL improvements, like :
- Performance improvements when managing large amounts of servers
- Better extension update management (having to restart WAC for each extension update is crazy)
- Finer RBAC management
- Feature parity with Server Manager and other Windows MMC (altough it also depends on extensions)
- ...and many other issues plaguing WAC for years now.
As for Issues · MicrosoftDocs/Windows-Admin-Center-Ideas-and-Feedback · GitHub, it seems to be devoid of any Product Team feedback for months, if not years.
I'm sure WAC team is trying as hard as they can to make WAC better, while dealing with limited resources - and I salute their hard work. But this is worrying.
