Microsoft Viva Sales is reimagining sales. By bringing customer relationship management (CRM) data and artificial intelligence (AI) into every salesperson’s flow of work in Microsoft 365 and Teams, Viva Sales helps sellers focus time where it matters most: making meaningful connections, building trust, and moving deals forward.
This month, we’re thrilled to share a suite of new features and improvements that together aim to simplify your experience with Viva Sales so that it just works seamlessly, all the while enhancing your productivity with AI-assisted content creation.
Get started right away with auto sign-in for all Dynamics 365 users
For sellers using Dynamics 365, we’ve made it even easier to get started with Viva Sales. Now, all Dynamics 365 users will enjoy an automated sign-in experience when opening Viva Sales in Outlook for the first time. Specifically, users with access to a single environment or single production environment will continue to gain immediate access to all that Viva Sales has to offer without any added steps. Users with access to multiple environments will also be automatically signed in and see a dialog letting them easily confirm or change the environment. All signed-in Dynamics 365 users can access this dialog easily at any time to switch the environment without signing out.

These benefits include ensuring that all participants see a consistent save/un-save status, the ability to remove saved emails from Dynamics 365 from Viva Sales, and automated saving of replies in email threads which are already saved to the CRM. Now, Viva Sales will seamlessly enable server-side sync when sellers opt to save Outlook emails or appointments to Dynamics 365 for the first time.

Truncate large Outlook emails automatically when saving to Salesforce
Viva Sales allows sellers to save Outlook emails to Salesforce, ensuring that all members of the sales team have visibility into customer engagement activities within CRM. In some cases, the length of an Outlook email may exceed the limits set in Salesforce. To address this, Viva Sales will now automatically truncate emails to an acceptable length when saving them to Salesforce.

Custom record types now supported when sharing CRM records in Teams
Many sales organizations use a variety of CRM record types, including custom record types, to model their unique business processes and tailor the CRM to their needs. Now in Viva Sales, we’re offering support for custom record types when sharing a customer record in a Teams chat or channel as an adaptive card, meaning that sellers can collaborate more effectively in Teams. A new advanced search is available that allows filtering on all custom CRM record types.

With Copilot in Viva Sales, sales teams can harness the power of generative AI to build stronger customer relationships and keep more productive in the flow of work.
This month’s release brings a suite of new features and improvements to our Copilot capabilities. In addition to numerous under-the-hood updates, here are some of the big updates we’re bringing to help sellers reclaim even more of their time and serve their customers even better:
Real-time sales tips during Teams meetings (private preview)
Whether you’re an experienced seller or just starting out, conducting successful sales calls and meetings can be challenging. The ability to confidently address objections, competitors, and customer questions is key to building trust and closing deals. That’s why we’re excited to introduce real-time sales tips, a new feature available during Teams meetings. With real-time sales tips, sellers will be prompted with generated battle cards whenever their customer mentions a competitor or a brand, empowering them to navigate sales conversations with greater confidence and achieve greater success.

Communicate better with tone selection for suggested email content
With suggested email content, sellers can instantly improve the quality and timeliness of their communications with customers—during which it’s crucial to find the right tone, style, and voice that resonates with each individual customer. Now, we’re introducing a new tone knob that lets sellers effortlessly switch between different writing styles. Furthermore, sellers can easily revert to previous versions of the generated email content, or provide additional prompts to refine the content further as needed.
