"The news spotlight currently only displays updates from the home site." This goes against what I have been building within my tenant for a while now. I have spent time defining SharePoint sites as organization news sites and have trained the company to post news to specific SharePoint sites based on the topic of the information (i.e. HR News goes to the HR SharePoint site).
The way Viva Connections only surfaces news from the Home site completely breaks this process. Am I supposed to re-train everyone to now post only to the Home site? I don't understand what the point is for org news sites now. The Viva Connections Overview page states there is a planned future update to include org news sites. When can I expect this? I couldn't find any mention of this in the roadmap and unfortunately find this new experience meaningless until that can change. Currently, users only see extremely old news posts as the home site only published news that could not fit within any of the other defined org news sites. I know a lot of hard work went into this, but I'm sorry... This feels like the app went in a completely different direction than what SharePoint defined as best practices.
Any insight as to when I can expect org news sites to be included within the spotlight would be greatly appreciated. Until then, unfortunately I have set my home site as the default view to bypass the new experience entirely.
