I'm keen to understand the rationale of removing Viva Engage posts from the newsfeed. VE is a primary communication channel for many with some orgs having much more engagement with 'news' there than within sharepoint - so I feel this is a weakening of the newsfeed offering.  Is there any plans to improve the UI of the news feed so that the author can be hidden? Also, an enhancement we've asked about previously is the ability to restrict the boost feature to a limited audience. We have many news creators, however want to restrict boosting to a central team - is this planned or available?

Following on from my question above (as I have since watched the video) I have a couple of further questions.

  • Can you provide any further info on what the plans are for the home tab?
  • If our sharepoint news is currently the intranet homepage - so that when I click the hometab will I see our SPO news with embedded viva engage webparts and if I select the new news tab I will see the SPO news. This feels a little confusing, however I may be missing something.
  • If I target news to a specific audience, how do people outside that audience get to see this news? i.e. I may not be the target audience, however my team are so I want to be across the update.
