Installing windows 11 and using it for just the hyper-v almost kind of eliminates the purpose. Many of us need a fully functional host where we can do active development, etc and have VMs that can run emulation/virtualization.
For those that have the ability, maybe running a preview build is okay just for this, but we cannot do that in a production environment when if there are issues with the host it costs us time which then costs us money.
Sure we are running these in our testing and compatibility labs so when the time comes we can make the switch to new versions with minimal issues, but we cannot push out preview builds to our people, let alone push it out and then tell them they cannot use the host for anything other than hyper-v
But you raise a good point. If hyper-v is 10.0 in server 2022 and windows 11, why the heck has 9.3 not been delivered to windows 10 yet?
Just seems to be a pain that AMD support points to Microsoft and Microsoft doesn't seem to care.
