...who recently graduated with a PhD in Software Engineering from University of Stuttgart in Germany.

This is the next segment of our blog series highlighting Microsoft Student Ambassadors who achieved the Gold milestone, the highest level attainable, and have recently graduated from university. Each blog in the series features a different student and highlights their accomplishments, their experience with the Student Ambassador community, and what they are up to now.

How has being part of the Microsoft Student Ambassadors community helped you connect with other tech enthusiasts and expand your global network?

Being part of the Microsoft Student Ambassadors community gave me the opportunity to connect with tech enthusiasts from around the world who share the same passion for learning, building, and helping others. Through community events, collaborative projects, and regular discussions, I established meaningful relationships with students and professionals not only in Germany but also across diverse cultures and technical backgrounds. These interactions expanded my global network and exposed me to new perspectives, technologies, and innovative ideas that enriched both my personal and professional development. I’m grateful for the time, experiences, and memories I shared with the friends and colleagues I met through the program, and I hope the community will continue to thrive in the future.

What impact did access to Microsoft tools and resources - like Azure credits, Visual Studio Enterprise, and Copilot - have on your journey as an AI-focused tech leader?

Access to Microsoft tools and resources, in particular Azure credits and PowerPoint, significantly accelerated my growth as a tech leader and software engineering researcher. Azure allowed me to experiment with cloud services, deploy AI models, and build end-to-end solutions at a scale that would have been difficult to achieve on my own. PowerPoint has become an essential part of my workflow, as I use it to prepare lectures, conference presentations, and visual figures for scientific publications.

These resources enabled me to focus more on innovation and problem-solving rather than being limited by infrastructure or tooling. Azure gave me hands-on experience with industry-grade technologies, which strengthened my technical skills and confidence when conducting research in software architecture. The Azure credits also allowed me to deploy and evaluate various AI models for different aspects of my research. Overall, these tools played a key role in shaping my ability to learn, build, and lead effectively.

In what ways has the Student Ambassadors program strengthened your resume, boosted your confidence, or helped you develop AI-ready skills for your future career?

The Microsoft Student Ambassadors program strengthened my resume by providing me with practical experience in modern technologies, community engagement, and technical leadership. Being part of the program demonstrated my commitment to continuous learning and provided concrete examples of projects, events, and technical work that I could present to future employers and academic institutions.

The program also boosted my confidence by providing me with opportunities to teach others, speak at events, and collaborate with talented students from diverse backgrounds. These experiences helped me become more comfortable sharing my ideas, leading initiatives, and taking responsibility in team settings. The past years as a Gold Ambassador for the DACH region were especially valuable because they allowed me to gain hands-on experience in leading a team and to regularly exchange ideas with other leaders in the program as well as with employees at Microsoft.

Additionally, the program helped me develop skills essential for a career in technology. Through hands-on work with cloud services, AI tools, and Microsoft learning resources, I gained a strong understanding of how to build, evaluate, and deploy cloud and AI-driven solutions. This combination of technical knowledge, leadership experience, and community involvement has shaped me into a more capable and confident professional, well-prepared for future work in cloud technologies and artificial intelligence. It is a combination that is especially important for my career path in research on AI for software architecture.
