Transcripts and captions coming to Stream on SharePoint

Hi pcrosen in short no.  CEA 708 captions are supported for live stream scenarios in other parts of Stream and Teams, but as the scope of this blog post is just Teams meeting recordings and regular videos you may upload (an mp4 for example) then no Stream will not recognize 708 captions that were manually embedded into that mp4 before it was uploaded.  Stream does support uploading a captions file to any video so if you have that content you'd like to add to any video, you can do so after it's been uploaded as described in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/view-edit-and-manage-video-transcripts-and-captions-3cb9acb6-05b2-4f59-a50d-7df61123aa20.  Is this a common scenario that your organization embeds 708 captions into a regular mp4 frequently?  Would love to hear more if you want to message me.  Thank you!
