Hi garrettbronner - it's so great to see that we'll have the ability to generate captions and transcripts in Stream (built on SharePoint). As another contributor already said Stream classic had some really great features in it, particularly those that supported organisations like mine for whom compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v2.1 is mandatory. We are eagerly awaiting the inclusion of these great features in Stream (built on SharePoint).
I second oiverson 's call to have the ability to embed the transcript with the video on a SharePoint page, either via a separate web part (wondering whether this could be done via connected web part pulling up transcript?) or as a part of a dedicated video player (rather than File viewer web part) that has web part settings that allow the transcript to be set to on or off.
Another item I'd like to suggest for the development backlog is to ensure that we have a way to include Alt text on embedded videos so that our screen reader users can get a short intro to the video and decide whether it is worth their time to hit the play button.
