Hi Mark, thanks so much for the time you took to write such a comprehensive article. Very much appreciated. I am in the middle of migrating MS Access backend to SQL Server. Have 2 sites with 2 different servers so an Alias is ideal. Just couldn't get it to work with Access 365 until I read this and hit it with the 32 bit version. As you say, bitness matters!
