Skype Room Systems v2 Build 3.0.10.0 has been available from the Microsoft Store since early this week. Build 3.0.10.0 resolves an issue observed where the SRS v2 soft keyboard may fail to appear after receiving the Windows 10 RS2 update.
For companies building their own SRS v2 images, we'll post a 3.0.10.0 standalone MSI shortly. The standalone MSI will be linked for download from the "Prepare the installation image" article on Technet here.
Slawomir GarbarzThanks for your help ans tips and indeed with my colleague Maxime NOË we found that changing a peripheral audio makes the system restart a routine and fix the screen issue, but if you reboot, the issue is coming back. This can be fixed as you found it out with also a physical switch on off. If we could add a routine to reset theses audio devices with a PS script at the startup this would save us!
David Groomchristophe limet@Kienan Leung i can confirm that we also have the dual screen issue where the facilitator in the room with the SRS cannot use the cable connected to the SRS to share their laptop screen to the 2nd SRS monitor! We replaced the cable that was included with our Logitech SRS dock (HDMI on one end and Display port on the other) with a cable that was HDMI on both ends, but it did not help. The 2nd monitor seemed to try to come alive, but the laptop image would not come up on the 2nd SRS monitor. Anyone know when a fix will be pushed so we can let it update itself, we are not really skilled enough to do a re-install manually.
I have done some tests today again and I have noticed that when you doing SRSv2 restart with plugged in HDMI source the displayed screen can be cut on external attendee Skype session despite you see the good size on your presenting room screen.
Please try to restart SRS with unplugged HDMI source and plug the HDMI source presentation when your system will be ready, please tell me if that works. In my configuration Surface Pro 5 and Logitech in works ok.
1. Yes there is no zip package on MS driver site, but as you can see from screen after few system restarts drivers are up to date.
2. I didn't noticed any issues related to second display, one display showing just HDMI input signal or Power Point presentation second only participants view, one annoying thing is that the left bottom corner room preview is so tiny and basically useless, I hope that MS give some possibility to change layout in the future updates.
christophe limet So far in all our testing we have seen results similiar to the image you posted above when sharing content from the HDMI input while in dual screen mode. HDMI input is directly from a PC.
I relation to my last week question @David Groom and limited time for internal deployment preparation, I tried to answer for my last week question by myself.
The new Surface Pro (2017) fits quite well to the old Logitech Smart Dock frame, so I can confirm (of course unofficially) the physical compatibility. Thank you Pavel Aivazov for your response in this filed.
Below some photos from my today compatibility tests:
I was worried much more about the software compatibility which seems to be ok as well (unofficially of course).
Morover I have just finished testing of my lab image installation of SRS v2 Build 3.0.10.0 on Surface Pro 5 (2017 version) without any issues including:
- up to 5 participant audio video conferences
- dual monitor mode test
- power point presentation controlled form SRS v2 (dual and single monitor)
- HDMI input presentation sharing (dual and single monitor)
- themes changing
Few words about my test configruation preperation:
My image consists just Windows Ent 10 (buil 1607) and latest SRSDeploymetnKit-3.0.10.0.msi binaries.
I didn't copy Surface Pro 4 drivers on USB, how it was recommended by MS in actual technet manual, to avoid any incompatibility issues.
Due to lack off zipped version of drivers for Surface Pro 5 I tried to install latest msi version, but as I was expected without success.
As you can see drivers were not installed.
But after plugging into network and finishing the rest of configuration (needed CA certificates installation, creating skype room account etc.)
After SRS reset I have spotted that all drivers were installed.
Fortunately the Surface Pro 4 refresh wasn't so deep and I hope that in next few days MS, officially will prepare technet manual for new version of Surface Pro.
