Are you the type of IT Professional that is looking for ways to increase your reach into the ever-expanding Skype for Business Community? I would like to introduce you to one of those opportunities that can provide exposure to other community members, as well as provide a forum for receiving technical content. I am talking about the Skype for Business Users Group, a community made up of IT Pros and Developers that are interested in Microsoft Unified Communications.
We are currently hosting events in 20 cities throughout the United States and are made up of over 3000 members. The full list of cities and scheduled meetings can be found at skypeug.com. The Group has a simple mission:
Educate by bringing subject matter experts on the Microsoft Unified Communications platforms, Microsoft Lync & Skype for Business, to incubate and grow general knowledge to each community.
Each of the local chapters meet quarterly and present technical content that is curated by some of the industry’s most well-known members. The Users Group board and event organizers are made up of individuals that are passionate about Unified Communications. There are current and past Microsoft MVPs along with Microsoft Certified Masters. The technical content presented at each of these gatherings is relevant and valuable to our members. That being said, I truly believe that this content is the secondary goal of the Users Group. It really provides a forum for the Group to achieve its primary goal of providing networking opportunities for IT Professionals that share a common interest in Microsoft Unified Communications.
If you are interested in attending one of these meetings, please go to skypeug.com for additional information. We are always looking for new members and for ways to expand our reach throughout the community. We will be hosting an event for our members at this year’s IGNITE conference, so be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming announcements.
