It was not working about a month or two ago, when last I checked (I will try again). There have been some indications that it would now, not be supported (even though, originally, it was supposed to be). KruthikaPonnusamy 's post from December 20th indicates that, at that point, it was not supported (see above). In other posts on the Internet, people calling in about the issue have received feedback from Microsoft that they need to purchase new phones.
In many cases, my customer's phones are barely a year old and they will need to re-invest in new phones in order to stay with Microsoft. These were early adopters that tolerated long pickup delays, having to purchase additional licenses just to forward to outside numbers or have department voicemails, etc. Keep in mind, SfBO did not become a viable phone replacement until August 2017 (when the Organizational Auto Attendant was released). The customers we deployed were subsequent to that date.
