Ilya Bukshteyn I have waded through this whole thread, and still have some questions. We converted to a hosted Skype for Business environment almost 2 years ago. We went with Yealink T-48S phones, about 400 of them. Our calling needs are fairly simple, need to be able to call a group of phones using a single number, like for our IT department. I think they all ring at the same time, is that a queue or simultaneous ring? I'm not sure. I love BToE, when it works. But most, probably don't actually use it. But using the phone as a speaker and mic for the computer has been awesome.
In my current use case, I have both SFB and Teams installed on my PC with BToE (Our tenant is in islands mode) . When I can use calling in Teams, the phone basically acts as a speaker and mic, and obviously the Skype functionality works well (most of the time). If we were to go to a Teams phone system (keeping the Yealink T-48S phones), what experience would I be left with?
WIll BToE or some equivalent still work? Will the phone at least work as speaker and mic? Can I dial a number on the PC and pic it up on the phone? Can I still ring multiple phones with one number? About half my phones are stand alone, will their experience be better/worse on Teams? I could choke on purchasing new back office phones, that would be about 100 of them, but could I keep the T-48s as viable standalone devices? I just can't find anything about the full experience of running a SfB phone on a Teams system.
I read the announcement about support next year, but it seems that won't affect my scenario at all, is that correct? I'm hoping for a roadmap forward, but it is just so confusing.
