The AI job boom is here. Are you ready to showcase your skills?
Hello! With the exception of Fundamentals certifications, you will need to retake them once they retire to stay certified, sorry. We aren't able to "grandfather" older certs because the skill sets are so different. AI Fundamentals won't retire and will reflect the set of skills it validated when you earned it. If you'd like your achievement date to reflect the updated set of skills you'll want to take the new exam.
That is different from what your colleague shared with AZ-802 that apparently doesn't need a retake

This is correct about AZ-802 because that's a consolidation of two exam requirements into one resulting in the same certification that exists today. If the name of certification changes, it's a new certification, meaning that you must take and pass the new exams to earn the new certification. The skill sets are different and while the new certs may seem like replacements, they are only in the sense that the jobs roles that the "old" certifications represent have changed into something else. The skill sets are similar in some ways, but they are different enough in significant ways that it's no longer the same certification.
