Hello Microsoft Tech Community,

I’m seeking some clarification regarding the AB‑100: Agentic AI Business Solutions Architect certification. On the official Microsoft exam page, I don’t see any listed prerequisites. However, in one of the forums I came across, it was mentioned that candidates should hold at least one of the 11 associate-level certifications before attempting AB‑100.

This has left me a bit confused. The exam page itself references both Azure AI content and Microsoft 365/Power Platform content. My background is primarily on the AI side—I hold AI‑900 and AI‑102 certifications. While I don’t currently hold certifications on the 365/Power Platform side, I do have several years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365, Power Platform, RPA, and Power Virtual Agents.

Since I’ve already scheduled the exam using my MCT credentials, I want to be sure I fully understand the actual requirements. Could someone please confirm whether there are any formal prerequisites for AB‑100, or if prior certifications are simply recommended rather than required?

Thank you kindly for your guidance—I’d appreciate a clear answer so I can prepare with confidence.

    AI-102 is not one of the prerequisites for the earning the certification. This post above provides a link that lists the 11 AI business solutions Certifications that are valid prerequisites.

    You can take the exam without one of the prerequisite certifications but will not earn this expert certification.

    The exam is in the  Business Applications solution area and requires knowledge of all the Dynamics 365 apps, Power Platform, Copilot Studio and the AI and Copilot features contained within them. It also touches on how you can use Foundry models and agents with these products.
