Also, is the new certification a beginners/"non-prerequisite" cert like the Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) ?? Thank you.

You are right. at the current time as the MS-900 is about to retire, the most related exam for 365 Fundamentals is now AB-900: Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals the replacement certification. For your second question the answer is Yes. In the Microsoft web site linked below you can find the Level, that is for Beginner.
