As we released Mbv3 Series (Mbsv3 and Mbdsv3 Series)last year, demonstrating 650K IOPS and 10GBps throughput of remote disk storage with Premium SSD v2 and Ultra Disk on our 2-socket Azure Boost platform—already a major milestone for cloud performance, now, we’re thrilled to announce to the community another leap forward with the coming Standard_M304bs_4_v4 VM size from new Mbv4 Series on the 6th generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors, which delivers 20% higher IOPS and 60% more bandwidth throughput than Mbv3, reaching 780K IOPS and 16 GBps throughput on remote storage. Below is the demo result from our lab for this new VM series,

The new Mbv4 series, built on Azure Boost, delivers exceptional IOPS and throughput to power the most mission-critical enterprise workloads. As part of the Azure M-series portfolio, Mbv4 is designed for memory-intensive and storage–intensive workloads, making it an ideal choice for relational databases, large-scale analytics, and other mission-critical data workloads. The Standard_M304bs_4_v4 preview is coming soon. Stay tuned to this blog site for the latest updates and announcements.
