How MVPs Helped Developer-Focused Conference NDC Oslo

NDC is one of the world’s largest leading conferences that has been held in various cities since its launch in 2008. Many people attend every conference, session, and workshop to learn the latest technical information from industry experts and for networking opportunities with speakers and attendees.

This past May, NDC Oslo 2023 was held in Oslo, Norway. For the second in-person conference since the pandemic hit the world, Microsoft MVPs, Regional Directors, and Microsoft employees attended the conference to explain the latest Microsoft technologies to thousands of attendees.

One of the MVP/RD speakers is Developer Technologies MVP, Melissa Houghton. She describes this event as connecting with talented people from the community and also says her highlight of this opportunity was connecting with other technologists from all over the world, “The conference runs for three days with an additional two days of workshops and often has a big focus on Microsoft technologies. They hold events all over the world with Oslo as their home and flagship event. As a speaker, you get access to the conference, have time to attend talks, and are able to connect with other speakers on a beautiful boat cruise through the Oslo fjords.”

According to Melissa, the conference had a good mix of content across different skill sets and technologies. For example, she delivered a technical session Azure Static Web Apps with Full Stack .NET to explain how to use Azure, Azure Static Web Apps, .NET, Blazor, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions to quick build and deploy full-stack .NET serverless applications. She also delivered a special session, Leadership Through Self-Awareness, and guided attendees to be a better leader. And it was a special conference for her because, “It is my last event before I start a new phase of my life as a mom to twins!”

Adam Cogan is another Developer Technologies MVP and Microsoft Regional Director speaker who joined the NDC Oslo from Australia. He delivered a session Rules to better ChatGPT and using the best API ever ⭐ and talked about prompt engineering, OpenAI API, contextual understanding with embeddings, the rise of autonomous agents, the Low Code version, as well as covering Microsoft’s latest AI technologies such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Fabric.
