Last week, the Microsoft Intune team announced that several new capabilities are now available to customers using the Intune service. One of the new capabilities released as part of the service update provides IT administrators with the ability to restrict access to Exchange on-premises email based on the enrollment status of a device. Policy Enforcement with Conditional Access Corporate email is one of the most important resources that employees need access to, and they need access from anywhere on any device in order to be productive. IT must fulfill these expectations in order to embrace a mobile workforce, which can require a delicate balancing act between user productivity and protecting corporate data. Mobile devices not only transmit data over public networks but are also uniquely vulnerable to loss and theft. Security, for the device and the critical data on it, is paramount. But policy enforcement to protect corporate data should not come at the cost of user productivity, nor pose an undue burden on IT. The Enterprise Mobility Suite , which includes Microsoft Intune , assists IT in the fulfillment of this requirement. As part of last week’s Intune service update, you can now set up conditional access policies to control access to Exchange on-premises as shown below: And this is just one of many new capabilities coming to Intune. You can see the complete list of new features released last week on the Microsoft Intune blog and learn more about the improvements to the Windows Phone 8.1 enrollment process for Intune here , which was also included in last week’s service update. Stay tuned to the Intune blog for further information on capabilities coming soon to Microsoft Intune. TechNet Documentation Update As part of this Microsoft Intune update, a series of new articles are now available on TechNet that document these capabilities. Visit the What’s New section of the Documentation Library for Microsoft Intune to see the articles that were recently published. Watch Conditional Access Webinar Additionally, during a recent 30-minute webinar, we provided insight into these new conditional access capabilities. This included a demo of these new capabilities, from both an end user and an IT perspective. We also spent time answering some great attendee questions.
