Announcing a new name for the Data Analyst Associate certification

This is my view. I think this has been renamed as there has been a change to the content from DA-100 to be more of a data analyst that uses Power BI vs Enterprise Data Analyst which is a new certification DP-500 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/dp-500

PL-300 is very much now aimed at the departmental person building visualizations using Power BI and the exam does not cover advanced DAX or Power BI admin.

The new DP-500 is aimed at enterprise data analyst using Power BI alongside Azure Synapse Analytics and other big data solutions.

Most Microsoft certs focus on a particular product or related products but only the parts of the product for that role. For example, the PL-200 is for people who use the Power Platform to build apps for others, but is not does not include any of the governance or administration tasks as that is performed by another role
