Empowering innovation for Android-based devices
The Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) is designed to empower partners in building secure, scalable, and cutting-edge Android-based devices. MDEP seamlessly integrates the flexibility of the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP) with Microsoft’s industry-leading capabilities in device management, security, and developer tooling.
Microsoft’s expertise in software, services, and platform optimization ensures that manufacturers and developers can accelerate time-to-market while maintaining high reliability and security standards.
Whether developing enterprise devices, consumer electronics, or specialized hardware solutions, MDEP provides the foundation for innovation—backed by Microsoft’s commitment to long-term platform support, regular security updates, and a thriving developer ecosystem.
In 2024, we delivered four major updates to MDEP, reinforcing our commitment to providing regular, consistent enhancements. Each release introduced new features and capabilities, ensuring our partners have access to the latest innovations, up-to-date improvements, and strengthened security measures.
Additionally, MDEP provides monthly security updates to proactively address emerging threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring a secure and resilient device ecosystem.
Our journey has been one of collaboration and continuous evolution. By joining forces with even more OEMs and ODMs, we are expanding the versatility of the ecosystem—enabling a broader range of devices, use cases, and industries to benefit from MDEP’s robust platform. With each new partnership and milestone, we move closer to realizing our vision of a seamless, secure, and connected device ecosystem.
