Does anyone know if true EDR is supported on Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2016? For Server 2012, documentation states MMA agent can be deployed to get EDR feature. However, given Server 2012 doesn't support Defender AV, and MMA agent is only a log analytics agent, does it mean it's only providing the detection/reporting capabilities but no response actions.
Essentially, am I correct in understanding that MMA agent is just a log analytics agent that pushes the logs to security center. It servers no other purpose.
