MicrosoftI'm pretty new to MDE administration. Our device mgmt requirements are currently based on "domain name". I have started using the Tagging feature along with the MDE Device Grouping features to provide administrative access for different teams (via AAD groups). This generally functions fine. I see value in migrating to the new RBAC (assuming our usages are compatible). Not sure how long it will take us to get there - might be trivial, or not.
That said, we have a large set of devices that are not part of our AAD tenant (managed by Intune) that we are looking to control MDE settings for. The devices are in our MDE console now, and we can work with them as needed. Unfortunately, there appears to be no way to use MDE Device Groups to manage MDE settings for these devices. Am I correct on this ? BTW, they are not managed by anything currently.
And where do I request this feature? Lastly, I have no clue on licensing but we have a large set of Win & linux servers to be added in to be managed in this manner. Does this MDE setting management feature impact licensing? I imagine I'm going to get a link to a licensing overview page here, but have to ask. TIA!
