Why AI Agents May Require a New Security Operations Model
Excellent perspective! Treating AI agents as a fifth security subject—alongside users, devices, applications, and infrastructure—captures why existing SOC telemetry and controls may be insufficient. The emphasis on tracing identity, instructions, data access, tool invocation, delegation, and downstream actions is especially important as agents receive greater autonomy.
Do you see the Agent SOC evolving into a dedicated function, or should these capabilities be integrated into the existing SOC through new telemetry, detections, playbooks, and specialized roles?

Thanks, Brandon! I suspect the question is less "Agent SOC or SOC?" and more "when does agent security become large enough to deserve its own operational model?" Today's SOC already adapted to cloud, identity, and SaaS. Agent security may follow a similar path, starting within existing SOC teams before evolving into specialized functions as organizations manage increasingly autonomous digital workforces. The tipping point will likely be when understanding agent behavior becomes as important as understanding user behavior.
