Hi everybody Our technical writer, Carol Bailey, is letting you know what’s new and hot in the docs for this December. Happy New Year! Reminders: Follow us on Twitter ( http://twitter.com/TheRMSGuy ) and join in our peer community at http://www.yammer.com/AskIPTeam . Dan (on behalf of the Information Protection team) The https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/ (formerly Azure Rights Management) has been updated on the web and the latest content has a December 2016 (or later) date at the top of the article. Updates for this month focus on the new preview version of the Azure Information Protection client, scoped policies (also in preview) and updates to the Azure Information Protection service. If you missed the announcement, see https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/12/07/azure-information-protection-december-preview-now-available/ . Note that while the documentation includes information and instructions for the new preview client so that you can test and evaluate it, instructions for a deployment network continue to list the GA version of the Azure Information Protection client and the Rights Management sharing application. In addition, because preview versions are subject to frequent changes, specific release details about the preview client are not listed in the https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/rms-client/client-version-release-history . We also have some documentation updates that incorporate questions from you and requests for clarifications. We value customer feedback and try to incorporate it whenever possible. If you have feedback about the documentation, you can contact us by emailing mailto:askipteam@microsoft.com?subject=Documentation%20feedback . Please do not use the documentation Comments section and side notes (using the Livefyre service) to post technical support questions, ask questions or comment on the product design, or ask when a feature will be available. If you're not sure how or where to get these types of questions answered, check our new https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/house-rules page.

What's new in the documentation for Azure Information Protection, December 2016
The following information lists the articles that have significant technical changes since the last update (November 2016). https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/requirements - Removed the restriction that forms-based authentication is not supported for Azure Information Protection. This authentication restriction is limited to Office 2010 and does not apply to the later Office versions. This is now documented as an Office 2010 restriction only, in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/requirements-azure-ad and https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/requirements-applications . https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/requirements-applications - Updated the table to include the preview version of the Azure Information Protection client, added the SealPath RMS plugin for AutoCAD, and removed Siemen's JT2Go app (.jt files continue to be supported by the RMS sharing application, and now the preview version of the Azure Information Protection client). https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/faqs-infoprotect - Updated throughout to remove some of the previous restrictions that no longer apply. For example, the preview client can label and protect files other than Office files, and now works with File Explorer so that you can do this in bulk and without opening the files in your Office applications. In addition:- Updated and clarified the answer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/faqs-infoprotect#can-a-file-have-more-than-one-classification
- New entry, which describes how you can apply labels by using the Outlook web app: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/information-protection/get-started/faqs-infoprotect#how-is-azure-information-protection-classification-for-emails-different-from-exchange-message-classification
