My keynote at MMS yesterday featured six separate demos (if you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it on-demand here ), and, as promised on-stage, this post will provide a detailed overview of each one. What’s really exciting to me about each of these demos is how they show, in great detail, the thorough consistency that is enabled across clouds, and I also love how the first five demos all feature deep Windows Azure integration. It’s also interesting to point out that the first four demos are built on SCDEMO (which you can see in action here ). If you have questions about these demos, let me know in the comments below! The first demo, presented by Vijay Tewari , showed how Microsoft’s management tools are Best-in-class for Microsoft workloads. This demo is a quick look at a private cloud that showcases how Microsoft is the best platform for running Microsoft workloads, like SQL, Exchange, and SharePoint. Vijay did this by walking us through a SharePoint Service Template which facilitates repeatable and error-free deployments using Virtual Machine Manager. He also showed how to extend your datacenter into Windows Azure and use the same VHD’s used on-premise to deploy workloads there.
