We are excited to announce the Update Baseline is now a part of the Security Compliance Toolkit! The Update Baseline is a new security baseline to ensure devices on your network get the latest Wi...
I am testing the baseline for use in a higher-ed environment and I am trying to tweak the notifications to give faculty and researchers every opportunity to restart themselves before being forced. However in testing the baseline via GPO on a Windows 10 Education 1909 VM I am noticing that I am not getting any notifications indicating that a restart will happen other than the icon in the System Tray and the change to the Shutdown/Restart options from the Start Menu. The baseline says that it is enforcing the defaults which I understand should be to notify before restarting, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I notice in the Advanced settings of the update panel that the option for Update notifications seems to be defaulted to Off (this was also the case after my clean install/domain join/no policy).
I have allowed access to the pause updates option to allow faculty/researchers to pause updates to allow for any computational runs to complete before restarting, but I can't seem to find the right combination of settings in the GPO to notify users properly.
Is there some recommended settings you can suggest?
