Hi Team,

Hoping you may be able to answer the questions below in regards to Extra Workload Identities.

 

We are looking into https://clicktime.symantec.com/15tStb7RAvEbUA3kabatm?h=mRfH27tAPkTX7Gn6SsW4io54jSGgKrJPagf-iCWnyxw=&u=https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security/business/identity-access/microsoft-entra-workload-identities?rtc%3D1 for one of our projects. We do have some questions before proceeding with the solution. 

 

  1. Is the workload identity pricing model based on every workload identity in the tenant or can we purchase licensing for specific workloads? Conditional access can be applied on per workload basis but the workload identity protection feature looks to be required for all workloads. is it ? 
  2. If every workload has to be licensed, how do we confirm how many licenses we will need? The portal shows all 4423 identities split across 3 subsets like Microsoft Apps, Enterprise Apps/services and Managed Identities. So would it be all 4423 Identities or we can license a subset?
