Identity data for European customers

Howdy folks!

I’m excited to announce that for customers who provide an address in Europe, Azure AD now keeps all personally identifiable identity (PII) attributes within datacenters in Europe.

Last year, we made changes in Azure AD to keep most identity data for European customers within Europe. Today, we expanded on this capability to include all PII data.

For details on what types of data we store and where, read Identity data storage for European customers in Azure AD. For information on where your identity data is stored, read Where is your data located?

And as always, we’d love to receive any feedback or suggestions you have.

Best regards,

  • Thanks for the update Alex. Is there a Multi-Geo story here as well, for customers who provide a leading address in the United States (for example) but then light up an EUR satellite?
