Is there any update on when authentication strengths will support external authentication methods?

There's been nothing about this - we have recently implemented an RDP gateway which meant we had to use MS MFA just for that when we have an EAM as standard.
Anyone in our EAM test group now just gets prompted for MS MFA if they are also a RDP Gateway user and Authentication Strengths is the only way i see to enforce our EAM when Custom Controls are deprecated.
