Key launch scenarios empowering identity security
Edge-level Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection with Cloudflare and Akamai
Cloudflare and Akamai deliver WAF to shield external-facing authentication endpoints from a range of threats like DDoS attacks, OWASP Top 10 risks, and malicious bots. This enables a layered security posture where traffic flows through Cloudflare or Akamai WAF, then Azure Front Door, before reaching your Microsoft Entra External ID tenant—keeping threats at bay before they reach your infrastructure.

Fraud prevention with Arkose Labs and HUMAN security
Arkose Labs and HUMAN security bring risk-based screening and adaptive challenges into the sign-up flow in Microsoft Entra External ID, making it harder for bad actors to create fraudulent bot accounts while keeping the experience seamless for legitimate users.

Account recovery and secure access to resources with Government ID verification with Au10tix, IDEMIA, and TrueCredential (LexisNexis)
Account recovery in Microsoft Entra ID now replaces weak methods like security questions with secure government ID and biometric verification. Users verify their identity globally with a government ID document and privacy-protecting face biometrics, and then register passkeys to reduce future lockouts. The same verification flow extends to Access Packages, enabling users to securely request access to resources—an approach explained in detail by Rohit Gulati, Principal Product Manager in the upcoming deep-dive sessions.

Levent Besik, VP of Microsoft Entra, highlights the significance of this launch.
“This sets a new benchmark for identity security and partner innovation at Microsoft. Attacks on digital identities can come from anywhere. True security comes from defense in depth, layering protection across the entire user journey so every interaction, from the first request to identity recovery, stays secure. This launch marks only the beginning; we will continue to introduce additional layers of protection to safeguard every aspect of the identity journey.”
Dorothy Li, CVP of Security Copilot and Ecosystem, emphasizes the value of integrated solutions.
“Embedding the Security Store in our core security products is about giving customers access to innovative solutions that tap into the expertise of our partners. These solutions integrate with Microsoft Security products to complete end-to-end workflows helping customers improve their security.”
Here’s what our customers and partners have to say.
