Matthias_VDB In a previous comment, Irina_Nechaeva already confirmed that Azure AD Connect will change names to Microsoft Entra ID Connect.
Irina has also confirmed that while appreciated, Microsoft is not going to change their decision based on any "minor" inconveniences or cultural insensitivities highlighted in this thread. Instead, maybe Microsoft will open source the product renaming tool they use internally.
Fun fact: do you know how many times Okta / CrowdStrike / Proofpoint have rebranded their platforms? Zero. Microsoft likes to claim that consolidating vendors lowers the total cost of ownership, but everyone on this thread would agree that constant name changes are one of the hidden fees when you go with Microsoft.
Instead of announcing product rebrands with zero feature changes, CrowdStrike is actively announcing partnerships with Okta and Abnormal to strengthen its maturing XDR platform. Have you seen an actual Microsoft Copilot demo that wasn't previously recorded? Instead of reading AI press releases for products that don't exist, I invite you to come learn about how enterprise security vendors are already using AI in their platforms to deliver natural language processing without the exorbitant Microsoft tax.
As Microsoft has already taken all of this into consideration, why not try calling a reliable and innovative vendor that is more interested in delivering value? Microsoft claims to spend $5b/year on security R&D, but as this blog post highlights, we all know that budget went to marketing instead of preventing the Chinese from stealing token-signing certificates.
