Has anyone else noticed that the abbreviation for Entra ID is the Muslim holiday Eid? Encroaching on religious terminology is not a great strategy for promoting diversity and inclusion. Microsoft's sheer size will likely have a negative impact on search results for religious groups trying to share biannual Eid updates within their communities.
I usually don't mind a good rebrand as it allows new partners with large marketing budgets to displace incumbent/experienced partners in search results that refuse to invest in updating their SEO keywords. (Everyone on this thread appears to have already committed to this.) It also makes for a good interview question to quickly gauge if someone is lying: you have 10 years of Teams experience--how many Lync servers have you deployed?
But I don't agree with rebranding products to the same name as a religious holiday. Get-EidUser sounds too similar to the national Muslim database that Donald Trump wanted to create. 😞
