What's New in Notebooks | October 2026
This has been a terrible transition for me. Chats I purged in Legacy Copilot reappeared in the new version, and come and go as they please. Pages that were transferred to the new Copilot have no content, and can't be deleted. I can't start new Chats in Notebooks, instead have to begin them in Chats and then *move* them. Nor can I share chats (the option no longer exists), and sharing Notebooks doesn't recognize "outlook.com" as a domain; personal domains are reported as "incorrect format". What I can share is a link to a *copy* of a chat, which may be one of the most useless options possible; why would I share the start of a conversation with someone, only to have them continue the conversation in a parallel, unrelated direction?
The learning curve for me has been steep and the experience, frustrating. Migrating from one version to a new version of software shouldn't be like moving from Windows to Linux. With minimal time, I should be able to figure things out, and jump back in to my projects. Right now, I can't even plan a road trip through England with my wife using Copilot, because we're creating un-sharable, unrelated content created by wildly different prompts.
Even Copilot can't explain what's going on, and agrees with me that the changes and redesign don't make any sense. Where's the UXD?
