My query is again regariing migrating to a new Hostname.

I have read, here, that is both simple and complicated.

My understanding is that is simpy (!) a case of performing a search and replace on the exported registry file from the source server, replacing the old hostname, with the new hostname, before importing on the detination server.

Am I missing something?

NB I have scoured both the 2012 and 2016 versions of the migration white paper and I can't see where it addresses differences in procedure for a host name change, no mention of modifying the .reg file , for instance. The references mention that it can be done,
