Paul_Adare I'm glad I read through all the comments to see your contribution. Kinda makes a big difference to - we have too much 2008r2 migration activity going on to be dealing with pointless doubling of ADCS migration efforts, so I thank you very much.
Now, you referenced https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2012-r2-and-2012/dn486805(v%3Dws.11) and from reading through (as best as a guy with ADHD is able), I don't see reference to using a different destination server name.
This older article does https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/ee126170(v=ws.10). See the dirty yellow text box. However, it's an earlier articles by a few years. I'm thinking it IS still possible to have a different Server name (not changing the CA name) using the same procedures, but it would be nice to have that clarified on here and also factored into MS publications.
