We are continuously working on bringing the latest Azure IoT Edge features to Azure IoT Edge for Linux on Windows (EFLOW), and we are excited to announce the public preview of Azure EFLOW Continuous Release. If you are new to EFLOW and want to learn more about it, we can recommend starting with reading our GA announcement blog here. Two different versions of EFLOW are now available with this release, so you can choose the version that applies to your scenario. The two supported versions are:
- EFLOW CR: Based on IoT Edge 1.2 branch, it contains new features and capabilities that are in the latest stable release.
- EFLOW 1.1 LTS: Long-term support (LTS) version, based on IoT Edge 1.1 LTS. This version will be stable through the supported lifetime of this version and will not include new features released in later versions. This version will be supported until Dec 2022 to match the IoT Edge 1.1 LTS release lifecycle.
Note: You can only have one version installed; either EFLOW CR or EFLOW 1.1 LTS. For more information, check EFLOW Versions.
The new EFLOW CR includes the following features:
- Latest Azure IoT Edge 1.2 installed by default (version 1.2.7)
- New support for ARM64 devices
- CBL-Mariner January update
- Microsoft Defender for IoT integration
- All the features included in the EFLOW 1.1 LTS version
- Updated partition layout, including dedicated log partition.
