Add A Meetings Calendar to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams provides a great, single pane of glass, where todays organizational employees get their work done. Not only can they share files, extend the Team for project tasks, chat and adhoc voice/video conference, but they can also schedule rich interactive meetings with their Teams. However, as I visit with customers one thing that is frequently asked for is to include a view to the Team Specific Meetings inline with the Team itself. Today there is not a specific Tab or connector to do so…but, there is an easy way to quickly provide the desired view.

In this Show Me How video I walk you through how to quickly, and easily, set up a view of the Team specific meetings within a Team. The solution I demonstrate has been making the rounds and is not something I came up with. Rather I have seen it popping up on Twitter, LinkedIn and more. I hope that you find it useful and it also should further highlight the incredible power, and ease of implementation, in integrating the various services in Office 365. In this case we will see how Office 365 Groups, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams come together in a few clicks for an elegant, integrated solution.

To help you further your own solution journey I have included some relevant resources below.

Lastly, while I have you here the HLS Blog is conducting a brief, anonymous survey, to help better serve our viewers over this next year. We would greatly appreciate your input. You can access the survey here.

  • SopeStar actually..... you can! I did not show but if you look at the point in the video where I am setting up the recurring meeting there is a dropdown for location. That drop-down gets auto-populated with the Team Channel info I selected BUT.... you can select the drop-down, pick a room asset, and then you will have both the physical room and Teams Meeting link in the meeting. <See the images below>

Great share.  Too bad you can't book a meeting room as well.  9 times out of 10 our meetings are both online and in a physical room

  • Thank you so much for this. I do however not see how I can change the view of this from a simple list view to a monthly Calendar view.

My Company has recently updated/patched MS360 which caused a few things to "Disappear" and change. One being a team calendar we had on Sharpoint (actual Outlook style calendar we had linked to our Teams site through sharepoint. This was great, we could link and see our own calendar as well as the team calendar (in monthly view) for planning projects and holidays. This was remove3d, and now I followed the above, but now cannot delete/edit my test meeting (very frustrating). I want a calendar, in which I can book blocks of times for our project as well as have my team put their holidays in (but not have it flood our personal calendars with these meetings and such. I also lost the Create a meeting tab/icon, that use to be in the left "activity" section, it is now replaced with Calendar, which is now my calendar. I don't want to share my whole calendar with my team, as they don't need to see this. What is being done now to be able to create an actual outlook style calendar for the Teams site? I cannot even add one in on the backend sharepoint site. I will keep playing around with this, I will book mark this channel to check if you reply. Maybe there is a solution., I just can't find it. • Hi SDurisek Just got back from vacation and reading your issues above. All of the issues you are describing not sure where they are arising from. You should still be able to pull up/edit the calendar entries through the native Teams Calendar UI. All that is being done is to place a view of the Group Calendar entries, with ability to join meetings directly, within the web-part that gets displayed.
