The different load balancing solutions can be hard to tell apart on paper, so I have gotten a lot of use out of the Architecture Center flow that you linked to here - the AC has a lot of great designs to use, and should be the starting point for things.
But it's really exciting to see these things be present in the portal as well. The Azure Quickstart Center is another great resource for in-portal guidance for how to tackle things.
I have seen some confusion for new services that appear outside of this context; for example, the new Gateway Load Balancer is a solution for inbound traffic with third-party NVAs, but when to use it depends on that third-party NVA. So that is one thing to keep in mind when using non-Azure native solutions.
