We are exploring 2nd long-term option, would be interesting to see a deep dive on that. And it would be great to see how the product team envision the roadmap towards logging and metrics for AKS. As stated in the documentation Container Insights can be excluded when enabling Managed Prometheus and as you stated above "Managed Prometheus is expected to be a lot cheaper in comparison to the logging component and will eventually replace the logging solution for the performance counters" however it remains unclear if it will replace only the performance counters or other components as well.
And would appreciate your insights on how can we make sure that we can still access KubeEvents and StandardOut/Error logs when we enable Managed Prometheus without Container Insights? Thank you
