Understand but what about using the storage migration service https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-migration-service/overview Copy it direct to a new location or just use a single VM for the files. as setting up a file cluster you will need also shared disks, and UNC path is all about DNS that can be fixed, check the storage migration.
