I tried doing something similar (restricting mailbox search to specific people/group) recently and results were not good.
From my test these features will not work in this scenario: preview search results (shows no results) and download search to PST files (this on fails with “object reference not set to an instance of an object” error).
I was actually preparing MS support case for this.
Can you confirm ?
