Ross,
Very good article. I have a comment about the first issue you state about the Denied of Services Attacks. In Exchange 2000/2003 and I think also 2007 even if you limit the size of the mailbox an internal user could cause the server to stop. It is due a caracteristic of the MAPI Protocol and I see no way to correct it for the next version. If you attach a big file on the message the Exchange log files still get increased. That way a user can get the server down by creating log files. Even if you restrict the message size I can still attach the files and even if I cancel the message the log files still growing. Exchange won't do anything until the categorizer process run and that only occurs after I hit the send button. Regarding that issue I ask you Is it possible to track that? Because I don't even need to try send the message I can cancel it and the log still growing. What kind of information it keeps on the log files? I have seen meny microbegin and micro commint transaction on the log files but I did not find information regarding that. Can you give me some information. I am a Microsoft Exchange Engineer in Brazil
Best Regards
Marcelo
