Hi Adam - Thanks. There's not really any single solution out there that provides all of what I touch on in this blog, but if you take the four perspectives I mentioned (online, archives, PSTs and other file system, backups) one at a time you'll find point solutions to manage each area. I'm currently with Quest Software and we have a series of solutions addressing most of these areas listed at http://wm.quest.com/products/exchange/. Additionally, here are some additional tips to help you find solutions:
1. Online - Exchange reporting & analysis solutions that touch on capacity management. See MessageStats 5.0 as an example: http://wm.quest.com/products/MessageStats/
2. Archive - Typically management solutions are provided by the vendor of a particular solution.
3. PSTs - There's not a whole lot out there for PST management. I wrote another blog on this recently ... you can read it here: http://p0stmaster.blogspot.com/2004/09/sengupta-david-vendor-news-beta.html
4. Backups - Also a fairly new space that's getting alot of attention in light of compliance factors driving awareness of what's in your backups. See Recovery Manager for Exchange as an example solution ... that solution is really all about "discovery" of what's in your backups: http://wm.quest.com/products/recoverymanagerexchange/
Hope that helps!
David
