Step by step run of the Exchange Calendar Update Configuration Tool (MSExTMZCFG.EXE)
I just updated our environment exchange 2003/outlook 2003 environment this weekend. Here’s some things to look out for.
Some appointments that were initially correct before the debase changed to being incorrect afterwards. Two big things to check to resolve this issue: check for xp patch (kb931836) and ‘refresh’ the time zone. For some reason or another, if I went in and unchecked the box at “Tools, Options, Calendar Options, Time Zone” in outlook, closed out of outlook and then went back and checked it again once I logged back in, it resolved most of my issues. Not sure if it’ll work everywhere, so take it for what its worth.
We also had issues with reoccurring appointments that were not kicking off emails from the meeting organizer, even though it fixed it on their calendar. After the organizer sent an update manually, the appointment was fixed.
