What worries me is that with over 9000 mailboxes to process, many users are going to get confused with the meeting requests being sent out after the tool updates calendar items.
We are worried that many users will simply ignore, or worse yet, delete the meeting request when after we run the exchange calendar update tool.
In our testing once the tool runs, the attendees are all showing as tentative. If the user ignores the meeting change request, they will continue to show as tentative, and the meeting will show in their calendar with the updated time.
If the user is being inundated with meeting requests, they may decide to instead delete all of the meeting requests from their inbox, effectively removing the meetings from their calendar. The same is true if the user is using a blackberry device and is deleting the meeting requests from the blackberry device because they are running out of space, or simply because all of the meeting updates are annoying them.
The end result being that out of 9000 users, many will end up doing this. It won't mater that we have told them not to delete the messages, and that they must accept the meeting appointments again, some will ignore, or delete them.
We need to be able to suppress the meeting request emails from being generated while running the Exchange Calendar update tool against mailboxes, as well as public folders.
I've seen in another blog post that the tool is being updated with this feature being included, is this true, and when will the tool be available? We plan to perform a test rollout in our test environment this weekend.

Tim
