Microsoft, thank you for addressing this long-standing issue dating back to Exchange 3.5. However, I disagree with the statement that replies will automatically use the alias when replying to emails.
- Outlook Web Access (OWA): This feature works correctly in OWA.
- Outlook for Desktop and Android: The feature does not work in these clients. When replying to emails, the desktop client and Android app default to the primary mailbox address instead of the alias.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Has there been any progress on ensuring that replies from the Outlook desktop client and the Android app automatically use the alias as it does in OWA?
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
The company I work for is a real estate firm managing 25 separate properties, each incorporated separately with its own domain. We face a challenge: one person manages all these properties and needs to keep track of emails related to each property. This person has 25 different aliases corresponding to each property.
The issue is that identifying which alias an email was sent to involves manually checking the header information for each email. While categories and color-coding could help, it would be ideal if replies could automatically use the correct alias.
