OOS is not optional: it enables browser previews, editing, and co-authoring on-prem; cloud “alternatives” (O365) is not at all an option for our “isolated” SharePoint on-premise Environment.
As it is, our existing environment is in a transition phase from 2019 to SPSE & moreover, we are looking for long term option for our data.
OOS has been the linchpin of our document collaboration workflows, enabling seamless browser-based editing without compromising our infrastructure.
Now, with a measly 10 months' notice, you rip this away, leaving us scrambling to retrofit our entire environment.
Extend OOS support by atleast 3–5 years (e.g., to 2030/2031) under a security-only LTS track with fixes only.
The timeline is too short for critical and constrained workloads; removing OOS now degrades productivity and pushes customers into unsupported operation.
Request you to please escalate this to your higher ups as this is extremely important for us.
