We are currently assisting one of our customers in connection with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 (SP3 UR24) migration to Exchange Server 2016 (CU11). Environment: Small "footprint", 2 Exchange 2010 CAS/HUB nodes, 2 Exchange 2010 mailbox nodes -> 4 Exchange 2016 Multirole servers , KEMP Loadmaster, etc.). Nothing special here.
During the migration of first (test) mailboxes, we noticed that even mailboxes already provided on Exchange Server 2016 have easy access to legacy Exchange Server 2010 Public Folders (Outlook 2010, Outlook 2016). Exciting here - no public folder proxy mailbox configuration has been implemented yet.
Was there a design change here? If so - in Exchange Server 2016? In Outlook?
